Torpedo Movement

Torpedoes move in a similar manner to ships, using turning circle two or higher.

The exception to the above is the Rocket Propelled Torpedo which moves much faster, it can only use turning circle three or higher.

If the torpedo does not hit in the first turn, it will continue to track the target submarine. However if the target submarine moves out of the torepdo's 90º frontal arc, than the torpedo has lost contact. However if the torpedo is wire-guided and the attacking submarine still has an acquistion lock on the target, than the torpedo counts as still in contact with target.

Wire Guided

Torpedoes may be guided by wire, the advanatges of this is it allows a torpedo which has lost contact with its target to be guided to the target submarine by the attacking submarine, considering the attacking submarine still has acquistion lock.

Proximity Fuses

Torpedoes may be armed with proximity fuses and therefore will explode within a certain range of the target. As might be expected not actually hitting the target will do less damage.
