Hibblesvania is a small province of the Empire which worships the Golden Swine of Hibble and whose chief economic activities are brewing and pig-farming.

The pig-breeders of Hibblesvania have made an important contribution to the fighting power of the Empire: the war pig. The province has successfully crossed the Hibblesvanian Black - a large and evil-tempered porker - with Orc boars captured in a past skirmish. The offspring of the original pairings have been selectively bred to be as big, nasty and bad-tempered as possible, and specially trained swineherds take the pigs into battle. Hibblesvanian regiments use war pigs as a way of softening up enemy lines or breaking through defences.

Because they are big, agile and fast war pigs treat defended positions as open and fortified positions as defended, and can move through woods. The other terrain restrictions in the WarMaster rule book apply as written. War pigs are immune to terror. War pigs can be ordered in the order phase because they are under control, but must charge the nearest enemy if within charge range as per the Initiative rules. They move at 25cm for full pace and 15cm for half pace because although they are classed as monsters they are more akin to cavalry so fall between the two classifications.

War pigs are based like cavalry, facing the short side of the base. Irregular Miniatures make 15mm pigs or you can use whatever you like, maybe Orc boar riders with the rider chopped off. Three or four pigs on a base are sufficient. One base in each unit may include a swineherd if you wish.

Thanks to Simon for these rules on the Swine.

Peasants

The peasants are revolting... in times of war, it is known that the local peasants would be drafted in to fight alongside the regular troops, not that they were much use but when times are hard and you are pressed you need to use everything you have got.

Empire Siege Cannon

It is known that the Empire will utilise gunpowder devices, when defending their or besieging an enemy fortification they will utilise the larger cannons in their arsenal.
