Ork Heavy Bommerz
A new flyer unit for the Boyz
Da Flyboyz are mad (well to most Orks they are) and generally the little Fighter-Bommerz they fly are quite effective. The more heavily armed Bommerz are more effective, but now and again a Mek gets a bit carried away and builds something really big to carry lotsa gunz and bombz… the Heavy Bommer!
These gargantuan monstrosities seem to almost defy gravity as large engines struggle to keep them in the air. Bristling with weapons and laden with a large number of bombz they can be easy prey for enemy interceptors or Flak, but if they get through to their chosen target...

As for a prospective model, Forgeworld announced at GamesDay 2002 that they would be releasing a 40K scale Heavy Ork Bomber, and though they have yet to release Epic scale versions of their Ork Fighter and Ork Fighter-Bommer, it might be logically assumed that at some point in the future that we could see an Epic scale Heavy Ork Bomber.
In the meantime you could utilise a converted 1/144th scale model kit, using a WWII four or two engined bomber. You could also use the new Forgeworld Epic scale Imperial Maurauder (I would go for the Destroyer version) and convert it for Ork use.
